Nomad on Atlas

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 19, 2026

This policy explains what Nomad on Atlas collects when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

Nomad on Atlas (“we”, “us”) is operated by Ankur Shrivastava, based in India. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@nomadonatlas.com.

The short version

  • The planner runs in your browser. Your situation — income, household, home country — is saved only on your device (local storage) and is never sent to our servers.
  • We use privacy-conscious analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. All form inputs are masked in session recordings.
  • We never sell your personal data.
  • You can opt out of analytics at any time (see Your choices).

What you enter into the planner

The numbers you type into the planner (income, savings, household size, your home country and currency) are stored locally in your browser so your inputs persist as you move around the site. This data stays on your device — we do not transmit or store your exact figures on our servers.

Our product analytics may record that you used the planner and coarse, bucketed signals (for example an income bandrather than an exact amount, or whether you met a visa’s requirement) so we can improve the tool. These are ranges, not your precise numbers.

Analytics we use

We rely on two analytics providers to understand usage and fix problems:

  • PostHog — product analytics and session replay. Session replay has all inputs masked, so the values you type are not captured. PostHog is served through our own domain (a reverse proxy at /ingest). Data is processed on PostHog’s US cloud. See PostHog’s privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic and audience measurement provided by Google. See Google’s privacy policy.

These tools collect usage data such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (derived from your IP address, not stored as a precise location), device and browser type, and interactions with the site. They use cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Notice.

Affiliate links and advertising

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and we may show clearly labelled sponsorships. Clicking an affiliate or sponsor link may share standard request information (such as your IP address and browser) with that third party under their own privacy policy. We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across other websites. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Why we process this data (legal bases)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process usage data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the site, and — where required — your consent for non-essential cookies. Visitors in the EU, EEA and UK are asked to opt in before any analytics load. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, from anywhere, via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Data sharing and transfers

We share data only with the service providers above (PostHog, Google) so they can provide their services to us, and where required by law. Because these providers operate internationally, your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.

Retention

Analytics data is retained by our providers under their standard retention periods. Information saved in your browser’s local storage remains until you clear it (see below).

Your choices

You are in control of analytics and locally stored data:

  • Use your browser’s privacy settings or a content/ad blocker to block analytics scripts.
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on to opt out of GA.
  • Send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal; many analytics blockers honour these.
  • Clear your browser’s local storage to remove your saved planner situation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@nomadonatlas.com. Note that because we do not collect account or contact details, we typically hold little or no information that identifies you personally.

Children

The site is intended for adults planning international moves and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. We will revise the “last updated” date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected here.
