Nomad on Atlas

About

A free, honest way to plan your move abroad.

Nomad on Atlas maps every digital-nomad visa — requirements, taxes, mandatory contributions, real living costs and the path to citizenship — and models them for your exact income, family and home country. Most guides stop at the headline number. We keep going, so you see what your move actually costs.

Who's behind it

Nomad on Atlas is built and maintained by Ankur Shrivastava, a product builder and AI educator based in India. Over 8+ years in product — including 5+ years at ShareChat, where he helped take Moj to 10 million users in seven days — he has built organic-growth engines across nine languages and shipped products used by hundreds of millions of people.

He builds Nomad on Atlas as an independent side project: a rigorous, free tool of the kind he kept wishing existed — one that does the full tax, contribution and cost-of-living math instead of stopping at a headline income figure.

How it works

Set your situation, once

Tell us who's going — solo, a couple, or with kids — what you each earn, and where you live now. It's remembered everywhere you go on the site.

We run the full math

For each country we check eligibility against the real income rules, apply the right tax regime (including special expat schemes), add social contributions where they bite, and subtract living costs you can fine-tune.

Compare against home & PPP

Every result is measured against staying put: tax saved, the same lifestyle re-priced locally, and what's left over — then PPP-adjusted so you see what your money truly buys.

Under the hood

Taxes

We model progressive bands, flat rates, territorial systems and tax-free regimes — and automatically apply special expat schemes like Spain's 24% flat rate or Greece's 50% exemption when they help.

Eligibility

Income thresholds scale with your household using each program's own rules, and we flag whether two incomes can be combined or only the main applicant's counts.

Honest by design

Numbers are careful estimates for planning, not legal or tax advice. We link to official sources on every country, and date each review, so you can verify before you apply.
